Back from the quasi-dead because I have to ask.
Dumbledore = Gay?
Frances was right all along. Rowling is her own RABID FANGIRL.
I couldn't care less about the actual idea of Dumbledore being gay. That's fine and dandy with me. But it's more the fact that she just..adds this stuff in willy-nilly. I viewed Dumbledore as asexual, honestly. Not because he was old (because there could have been chemistry between him and Minerva..who knows?) but simply because he gave off that vibe. And that's fine, I could be (obviously I am) wrong about it. It was told from Harry's POV mostly, and what does a kid want to know about an adult's lovelife for right?
But this just reeks of, "OMG I have this AWESOME character who can do ANYTHING" We see said awesome character. Some people question character, rumours of Stu-age abounds. "NO NO. HE'S NOT A STU. See? Flaws! He made mistakes!!" We see said mistakes. Finally appreciate the character in its fleshiness. "OH, BTW. He's GAY."
Mhm.
Okay. Done. Also by the way! Boston = crazy quirky awesome and New York = busy bustle awesome. The trip was good. I'm ready for something laid back like Disneylandia though.

Chilly Down - The Wild Gang |

Today was Thanksgiving at work. Each year, the Hospital has a dinner for the patients and their families. It's nice. I have no part of it, so I don't get to watch the people interact, but I heard that it was pretty good from a few of the fellas as I was walking out this evening. In light of this, I've been idly thinking about all the good things in my own life. And had decided to run through a list of all that I'm grateful for. However, this is going to be a different type of list. Friends, family, and other such stuff are all givens. Of course I'm thankful for those. This list is to celebrate the quirkster things that make me happy. Needless to say, this list is not all-inclusive. There are many things I'm thankful for. But these came to my head first, so I'm probably most glad for them. And..here we go:
- The Labyrinth. Everyone needs a movie that they can watch over and over, and never get tired of. I'm also grateful for David Bowie, the songs, Jim Henson and his creations, and the weird, detachable Wild Gang creatures.
- Books. Without books, I would be tragically bored on trips, wouldn't have an extensive vocabulary, and would have to buy smaller purses.
- Ice. Without it, and with what I believe is an oral fixation, I think I'd have to resort to smoking.
- Contact lenses. Lest I become a coke-bottled, bespectacled geek once again.
- Hair dye. Blue is the new black. So is green. And purple.
- The internet. Without it, I would live in a world without information. Or bad fanfiction. A frightening world indeed.
- Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Oh Blooregard Q. Kazoo. The spell you've cast over me.
- Earrings. Insurance that pixie haired gals look feminine.
- Colouring books and crayons/colour pencils. Makes me feel I'm at least a wee bit artistic.
- Tee shirts with funny sayings. Sometimes I want my strange humour known before you speak with me.
And last, but not least.
- Hoggle the I-Pod. Without him, I'd have to deal with cumbersome CD's while in the car, and funny looks while singing out loud.

Only 35% Apathetic! Hah!
Hedonism is second. Mm. Really, is that a surprise? I think all 20-somethings are hedonists to a point.
| You scored as Existentialism. Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.
?Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.?
?It is up to you to give [life] a meaning.?
--Jean-Paul Sartre
?It is man's natural sickness to believe that he possesses the Truth.?
--Blaise Pascal

If you do not hear from Anna for a few days please do not worry. She is not dead, nor angry with anyone. Simply, as would happen with a sparkly new book, she will be enthralled with something for the length of time that it takes her to finish the story. Kingdom Hearts 2 came out as of today, and Anna was already sucked in. Sadly, as she does not video game as fast as she reads, it will be a few days for the story to play out. Please bear with us during this time, and pay no attention to the distracted answers you might get upon attempting to hold a conversation with her. Thank you.
This has been a public service announcement.

the Peacemaker Test finished! |
you chose BX - your Enneagram type is NINE.
"I am at peace"
Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them.
How to Get Along with Me
- If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure.
- I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advatage of this.
- Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.
- Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and nonjudgmentally.
- Ask me questions to help me get clear.
- Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.
- Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.
- I like a good discussion but not a confrontation.
- Let me know you like what I've done or said.
- Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life.
What I Like About Being a Nine

- being able to relax and have a good time
- knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around
- my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator
- my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now
- being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe
What's Hard About Being a Nine
- being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive
- being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline
- being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally
- being confused about what I really want

When I was a kid, there was this show called Captain N, about a boy who got sucked into the world where video games lived. It was awesome. After going to to the WonderCon (a comic convention) I have a dvd of some of the episodes! Including the one with Link and Zelda! Hee. It's great.
I'm just reminiscing, though, and will do some more later. Right now? I eat!

Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode |

I know this isn't gonna make sense to anyone. I'm writing it for cathartic reasons. Because a quasi-pissy Anna plus crazy people does not equl good times.
...Dude. I don't freaking care what the other office secretary did, or told you. There is no 4pm mail. In this hospital, mail comes twice a day. Once in the morning, around 1030/1100am, and once in the afternoon around 230/300pm. If you didn't get your fecking package/letter/magazine/enter-the-craptastic-thing-here, then it is not my fault. Let me repeat that. It is not my fault. I ain't stealing your mail or keeping shit from you. I'm far too low on the totem pole to decide what you do or do not get, and I couldn't care less about what you get in the mail. I know you're paranoid and delusional, literally, which is why I keep my ranting solely in this journal, but if you don't cool it then I'm going to have to get grumpy. I hate getting grumpy. Besides, your rantings cause the other hombres to start grumbling too, and then I'm going to have trouble on my hands. And so will you guys. Mmph.
Alright. That's off my chest. Now I can finish my work. And possibly go home early.. ::Eyeing the time::

 | You scored as Andromeda Black (Tonks). Romantic, sensitive, and a believer in true love, you are willing to give up everything-- including your family-- in the name of love, if it comes to that (and, well, with Andromeda, it does). You are a dreamer, but willing to take action when necessary.
( . . . and I swear to God, if I get one more quiz feedback email idioitically telling me "Andromeda is Tonk's mother, not Tonks," . . . THE TONKS IS THERE AS HER MARRIED LAST NAME!!! IF ANDROMEDA BLACK MARRIES TED TONKS, THAT MAKES HER ANDROMEDA TONKS!!!)
